“Language is used in primary school as the main tool of teaching. Children need proficient language skills in order to use their language to learn.”
(I CAN talk series –issue 6 2008)
Speech and Language therapy can enable teachers to support the communication and interaction needs of children with speech and language difficulties within their setting. This will enhance children’s ability to learn and access the curriculum.
Working in schools and Early Years settings throughout my career as provided me with much experience in supporting children in educational settings. I have worked in partnership with many SENCo’s and teachers in order to develop interventions and strategies to support children with speech language and communication needs within schools.
Assessments and interventions can be carried out on an individual basis for children with identified needs.
A group screening service can be carried out within a year group, where teaching staff may have concerns regarding a number of children.
A range of training packages can be provided. Bespoke training can be developed with school or please see our training page.
